Want to Teach NATMI Programs?

NATMI Presents: 
Instructor Train-the-Trainer

Dates: July 23-24, 2020

Deadline to Register is July 17, 2020


NATMI has finalized plans for the Summer 2019 instructor Train-the-Trainer program.  All prospective instructors wishing to teach NATMI courses, who have not attended a previous train-the-trainer program, must attend the upcoming program, which is scheduled on Thursday, July 25th and Friday, July 26th (the program will end by 2pm on Friday). 


This summer's program will be held in Denver, Colorado at the NATMI headquarters office building - GROUND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM.  The 2 day program covers NATMI's goals and expectations for instructors, background on our nationally-recognized certification programs, as well as how to effectively instruct NATMI courses.


There are no fees to attend the course, but attendees are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses.  NATMI will cover the cost of course materials.

8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.               Introductions


                                               Purpose and background of NATMI

                                               Administrative Details

                                               Overview and Planned Activities

10:30 a.m. - 11:45 p.m.             Teaching and Learning Theory

11:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.            Transportation to restaurant

12:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.               No Host - Lunch (off-site TBD)

1:15 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.                Transportation from restaurant

1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.                 How to Use Lesson Plans

                                               Characteristics of a Good Instructor

                                               Five-Minute Overview

                                               Use of Instructional Objectives

                                               Getting Ready for Teaching

5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.                 Dinner on Your Own

6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.                 HOMEWORK: preparation of Lesson Plan for course you will be teaching. 

This lesson plan should cover a single topic.  While the topic

may be several hours in length, you will prepare a lesson plan

for one hour.


                                                You will use this lesson plan to:

                                                            Give a 3-minute overview

                                                            Present a 15-minute lesson


Friday, July 24th             

8:00 a.m. - Noon                       3-minute overviews and 15-Minute lesson presentations

12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.             Working Lunch (NATMI to cater)

NATMI’s expectations of instructors; on-site course administration

12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.               Presentations continued


1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.                Wrap-up
